Spring Tutoring Has Sprung!

The quarterly free tutoring programs offered by UPE, TBP, and HKN have begun.

CS Town Hall on 2/23

The Computer Science Town Hall will be held on Thursday, 2/23 in Boelter 4760. At this meeting, students and faculty will meet to address questions that students have raised about the CS department, curriculum, course offerings, and more. An Amazon Kindle will be raffled off at the event.

Facebook SoCal (UCLA vs. CalTech) Camp Hackathon

When: Friday, May 6, 5pm-May 7, 5pm

Where: De Neve Plaza

Description:

Facebook is hosting its first Southern California ‘Camp Hackathon’ next Friday, May 6 starting at 5PM. The 24-hour hackathon will
take place in De Neve Plaza. Facebook will also be bussing pre-registered teams from Caltech to join in the competition – so be prepared for a battle.

You bring:
* Hackathon ideas
* a laptop
* a team of up to 4 people

We'll provide:
* PRIZES
* FREE FOOD/MEALS
* FREE Facebook t-shirts
* Fun diversions
* Expert tips from Facebook software engineers

Winners of each Camp Hackathon will be flown out for an all-expense paid trip to Facebook HQ in Palo Alto, California. Your team will compete against winning “Camps” from other universities where your Hack will be judged by a panel consisting of Facebook execs.

Break Media Infosession

Come learn what it takes to run one of the largest and most trafficked media companies in the country. Mike will share insider tips and advice to succeed in this difficult to break into media and gaming industry.

Mike will also share how he rose from an intern with the 76ers to an executive at Symantec to a globally recognized blogger at "A Product Guy" to VP of Product and Games at Break Media.
